Sarah M Rutherford
Sarah Rutherford has dedicated her career to uncovering the human truth behind every brief. Her empathy for people has led to impactful behavioural changes in customers, which have driven significant business results.
In 2019, Sarah was ranked one of the top copywriters in Canada by Strategy Magazine. Her work has been recognized by Cannes, The One Show, and Warc, among others, helping her agency, Cossette Communications, win Agency of the Year three years in a row.
After being in the industry for only seven years, Sarah was promoted to creative director. Today she oversees a brilliant team of 18 with expertise in copywriting, art direction, UX, UI, and production design. In her tenor, she has been lucky to work with clients such as TD Bank, SickKids Foundation, TELUS, BMW, Canada Goose, Royal Canadian Mint, Walmart, Dairy Farmers of Canada, and M&M Food Market.
Sarah believes it is important to nurture and grow the next generation of creatives, starting with their personal development. That is why she successfully advocated for funding so the creative department could attend presentation courses, Second City classes, Ladies Learning Code workshops, and conferences such as Collision, NXNE and The Art Of Leadership.
Outside of the office, Sarah is active in the community. She has been a volunteer for Big Brother Big Sister of Toronto, New Mom Project, Habitat for Humanity and The Corsage Project.
